Happy Birthday Hannah!
September, 21, 2010 The 20th birthday of Hannah Gaut. Sometime in the middle of the day she decided that having a party would really fun. So, we told a few people hoping it would get around with word of mouth. It did. I am the type of person who likes to plan things like 'parties' a week in advance. This was so not a week in advance! After work we went and bought a cake and some tea, thinking only 10 people were going to be there. Ended up being 30! It was alot of fun, I don't think I have ever seen a group of young adults so amused with balloons? And of course we did some Old English dancing, and an upbeat country dance :) But just for Hannah we did....the BROOM DANCE.... or as I like to call it...the REJECTION DANCE...yeah much better fit. I think it's safe to say that everyone had a really great time!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY :)

Dance, Dance
Last night I attended my first ever DANCE. One of the interns, Stacy, knew the host family, so she called and said "Hey I have 25 friends can they come to your dance?" haha. It was a sight when we all arrived at the same time, kinda felt like party crashers. Pretty Great
When I was growing up (psh like I'm grown up) I never had dances, my school did not approve. Instead we had banquets where everyone had there own little personal space. I don't have the exact rule, but there was a six inch rule when I was in high school. If this rule happened to be broken, you're in trouble!
We danced the Virginia Reel, Spanish Waltz, and I cant remember the names of the others. I am proud to say I successfully (successful in my head) danced every dance. The last dance of the night consist of spinning, twirling, and dizziness, you were always moving! Oh yeah and it was twenty-two minutes long. 0_0 You can imagine we were all pretty worn out by the time we got back to the hotel...

Good-Bye Giant
I am no longer a Giant employee.
- My first day at Giant was October 9th.
- On my Second day at giant I witnessed something that I will never be able to forget. An elderly women was loading her items on the belt when she gripped the edge of the register and began whispering to me...I thought she was possessed. Then out of nowhere she falls flat on her back and pulls the cart down with her. Her breathing was very heaving and her eyes were moving back and forth really fast. Then she just stopped. An ambulance came and took her out on stretcher, and I am happy to say that she is alive and well :)
There are four types of customers at Giant, The Perfects, The Impatient Ones, The Crazies, and The "Clever Ones"
- A nice simple conversation, a smile, a compliment, a thank you, these are all qualities of The Perfects. I love these customers :)
- Impatient people are a wee bit annoying, they roll their eyes, tap their fingers vigorously, glare at the cashier and/or bagger, or my favorite- mumble....No One Knows What You're Saying!!! so keep it in your head please.
- The Crazies are the people who know just how to drive me up the wall! A few examples are: When they line every single item in a single fill line on the left side of the belt, oh and when they buy a bunch of stuff and then go "oops I don't want them anymore" What?! Then why did you put it in your cart?? My favorite is after I finish bagging they go ''Oh oops I had bags here you go'' Why!... (p.s I dislike this whole bring your own bag thing)
- People think they are so clever. I just love it when a customer buys something and then say "Oh no that is the wrong price" so I take them to the price tag and show them it's the right price. Then they try to convince me that I'm wrong...I'm not BLIND! or they try to do these weird separate transactions thinking they get a better price. What?! how is that making your purchase any cheaper??
While working at Giant I learned some important facts such as:
- Never squeeze a bag of flour to hard
- Always make up a fake injury when asked to go outside and push carts
- Do not ever bag a child's toy with out their knowledge
- Circus Peanuts keep you young
A few things to note before you go grocery shopping
- Don't forget your wallet
- Please take your child out the cart when checking out, unless you want him/her smooshed under groceries
- Wash your "green" bags. Please!
- And always thank the Bagger ;) haha

VT SIS
Last weekend my older brother Josh moved down to Virginia Tech! Josh, Harrison, and I rode down in the Jetta, it was fun. On the way to the campus my grandma called and asked for a Navy Blue and Orange VTECH sweatshirt? Whoops those are UVA colors, big no no. (haha) Overall it was a happy yet sad weekend. Harrison and I now have no one to watch Whose Line Is It Anyway with :'( but no worries cause we all have...SKYPE! (I think the three of us are easily amused)

Why hello there Mr. Cullen
Today I was at the mall with my best friend Emily, and look who we found taking pictures and signing autographs-Peter Facinelli, or as most know him, Dr. Carlisle Cullen. I wished I had charged my camera that morning, but I had my cell! Now I'm not a crazy obsessed twilight fan. But I have to say, it was pretty cool to see him.
Shark Week...no thank you.
As most of you know, this week is Shark Week on Discovery channel. I have a huge fear of sharks, along with spiders and flesh eating diseases. About an hour ago I came in from night swimming and my cousin Brie had the t.v on, and it was turned to...dun dun dun...Shark Week! Who in their flippin right mind would watch a show about blood thirsty sharks before bed, or better yet when your galeophobic cousin is sharing a room with you! I have never seen eyes that stare into your very soul like a sharks do.
p.s (I don't have a real 'phobia' of sharks, It's border line, I'm just really frightened of them)
Life's a Beach
Well I'm here chillaxin with the cousins watching Hells Kitchens after a fun filled day! This morning I woke up to fresh doughnuts bought by my grandpa, and the noise of bacon sizzling. I walked into the kitchen to find my mom, brie, and grandma, working hard on todays crossword puzzle in the paper. As soon as everyone was wide awake (except Matt who slept till 1:15) we threw on our swimsuits and headed to the pool. Water volleyball is ultimate fun time. My uncle Frank took all the cousins to the beach shops this afternoon. I bought a shirt! For dinner we ordered pizza and watched a great family movie 'Failure to Launch' (AHA). Chris made homemade ice cream and I'm gonna go make me a bowl so...See Ya :)
I Listen to Joe Brooks
Hey it's Morgan I have exciting news! 20 Minutes ago Joe Brooks' single World at Our Feet was released on iTunes. I just bought it! I am very excited and cant wait for the CD :)
Sweet Tea and Twizzlers
Hey there, I just finished the first day of vacation with my family (from my moms side.) Last night I didn't get any sleep, I think it was 1:30 by the time my head hit the pillow. At 5:30 my mom came in sweetly saying "Wake up time for your last vacation of summer 2010." I did not want to wake up. I mean who wants to wake up to the night sky? (it puzzles me) We arrived at Starbucks at 7 to meet with everybody, then hit the road. My dad found the funniest radio station ever, it was like a never ending comedy act! Traffic on the bridge was really bad, we were still, I did not like this. It was about 2:45 when we pulled into our beach house. It had a pool, so all us young ones jumped right in. Then Mr.Sun was like psh I don't need to keep you warm, so he left us in the cold. I have found a new definition for the ocean, it is- The Jellyfish Hotel. There had to be over 200 of those things washed up on the shore. (photos coming) When the waves curled you could see them being tossed in the waves then float up to our feet. EW is all I said. To top off the night we watched Wolfman, I liked it, no one else did....oh well!
MacBooks and Answered Prayers
Hey Sunny here, so this morning my mac book came in the mail! It's a pretty big deal to me cause I paid for it myself, very exciting stuff right? It has no right click button, that is so weird?
I have a pretty cool story to share: I plan on pursuing a career in Film, I've prayed about it and I really feel God can and will use me in that industry. So, back in May I went to the Film Workshop by Advent Film Group, a Christian film ministry. I learned a lot about the post production of a film, finances, story lines, and legal blah. Anyway they take in a certain number of interns for each film they produce. I sent in my resume and waited......waited....and waited. I would pray and ask if this is really what God wants me to do, so being human I put everything on hold, I did nothing. I remember a chapel lesson I heard one Wednesday: You can't drive a parked car, God can't lead you if your not moving forward. I don't remember who said that but I wish I knew, I owe him a huge thank you! So I started to move forward, I registered for classes at the community college, I start in three weeks. This morning while my mom was at work she was looking at some college stuff and film activities to help me with all this. Then she stopped herself and asked the Lord to help find what He wants me to do, not just what I want. When she got home AFG sent me email saying i could qualify for an internship. So I filled out my application and sent it on its way. It's in God hands. Amazing how He answers prayer like this.
Life Back Home...
Over the past couple weeks I started to rebuild my relationship with the Lord. It is like a breath of fresh air to get back into his word and explore the world God has put me in. During the time I was not focused on God I had this tug inside me like something was missing and it made me absolutely miserable. After my vacation to Sandbridge He opened my eyes to His creation. When I got home I dove headfirst into Gods word. One particular verse really spoke to me: Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for YOU created all things and by YOUR will they were created and have being. This verse reminded me of the God I serve, the God who created all things, whose power is greater than any other, whose love is unfailing, a God who never leaves you, who comforts you in time of need, and challenges you. A God worthy of ALL my praise. I serve the one true God, who sent his only son to die for me and for you.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
A Day in Sandbridge
Hey Sunny here..
So last night we had a pretty bad storm. The House was literally swaying back and forth(kinda creepy.) And because of that storm the waves were really rough today. I counted up to 20 surfers in the ocean, yes 20! First thing I did this morning was grab my film camera and take a few photographs, hopefully they all turned out. After lunch we went to Motorworld, a borderline sketchy go-kart/carnival park with russian men who ride bicycles where "left is right" and "right is left." They also had these big clear balloon hamster balls that sat on top of a pool of water, and of course me and alison got in them! Me, my parents, grandpa and the brothers walked around the Va beach boardwalk and The Strip, and we went to my favorite surf shop, 17th Street! Rode back to the house with windows down and radio blasting. We ended our day with walking on the beach at sunset with the whole family, and playing football in the sand. Over all it was pretty great day
Welcome :)
I'm just going to let you all know a few things about me. OK? I am a Christian, God comes first in my life, He died for me so I live my life for him, and so far He has blessed my life tremendously. I have a huge interest in Film, Photography and Music. Making homemade movies is the best thing since sliced bread. My all-time favorite season is Autumn. The ocean is a wonderful place to be. Sitting on a grassy hill in the summertime looking up at the sky with a warm breeze blowing is very enjoyable. When I'm upset or am in deep thought i play my guitar (it helps me think.) Tea is amazing. Laughing is the one thing I'm really good at. Yes I smile a lot and often remind people of when they were little, I can't help not being fascinated with this incredible world around me. I love stories, so if you have one I want to hear it.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not
