Lisa Frank

The most inspirational paragraph I have feasted my eyes upon.
"Lisa Frank is not the name of a woman, it is the name of a movement, a culture, a way of living. It is a theory, a concept, a belief in something greater than yourself. It is the belief that all girls are entitled to dolphins covered with rainbows, jewel-encrusted frogs, and unicorns in acid-trip colors hugging each other. It is the ideology that no notebook is complete until it literally hurts your eyes to look at from so much color saturation. It is the hope that no school supply, no matter how insignificant, will be left un-bedazzled. It is the knowledge that your eraser cap, and that of your granddaughter’s, and her granddaughter’s after her, will not be some boring little nub–it will be a diamond covered with butterflies in a rainbow of colors. It is the dream of a better tomorrow."

20 years of living.

November 26, 2011
I'm 20!! Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday I was a 16 years old dreaming of the day I could drive my own car, all by my lonesome. Now as I am 20 I wish that people would drive me around so I wouldn't have to spend money on this dag-on expensive gas!? This upcoming year of my life is going to spectacular, I can feel it in muh bones...

Evil Steam.

I'm never boiling water again!!! Never!!
You can give me wood, matches, and a field and I won't get burned. You give me noodles, a pot, and boiling water and you would think I was trying to boil my hand off. Steam is the devil of all water elements. As I type this my thumb is throbbing in excruciating pain. From this day on I will NEVER make noodles without the right protective gear aka supervision.

Bucket List #2

To spend one (or more) year(s) of my life traveling the world.
Documenting it as I go.
Taking more pictures then my camera can contain.
Meeting thousands of new people.
Making memories.
Trying new things.
Longboarding in Spain. (When I learn).
Collecting a million tourist stickers.
Exploring the world God created to it's fullest.
All I need is: a travel partner, time, camera, luggage, money, and a map :)

The Alarm Clock.

beep, beep, beep

Is there anyone out there who just anticipates the ringing, dinging, or beeping of their morning alarm clock?
I am most certainly not one of those people. Don't get me wrong I love the morning. It's what goes on before my morning starts I can't tolerate. In many of my cases my alarm clock is considered the "ruiner of all awesome dreams." Why, you may ask? Allow me to tell you. I have never reached the climax point of any of my action filled dreams due to my alarm clock. It's as if it knows the exact point in my dream at which it would be most impactful to ruin!? In most cases I frantically hit snooze in hopes of completing my dream within the next five minutes, but I can never seem to re-open the dream no matter how hard I try. It is tragic really. Every morning I am getting awoken by this screaming inconsiderate machine whose life purpose is to interrupt my slumber. Although I see many annoying aspects to the alarm clock they were obviously designed for a practical purpose: waking you up so you wont be late for life-stuff. But that is not really a good enough pro for me to begin to love my alarm clock. So I took it upon myself to design a new way of looking at the alarm clock to make it seem more enjoyable.
This method may not work for everybody, but if your like me it will work!
It's simple really. Just pretend the alarm clock is a bomb. A bomb that if detonated will destroy the entire world, and the only one who qualifies to disarm the bomb is you. So basically you save the planet every morning. You have been given such a great responsibility and I for one would not want to let the world explode because I was sleepy.

And that is my solution for the dreadful alarm clock.

iPod+iTunes+NewUpdateThatMessedEverythingUp= My night

I had my mind set on going to bed early tonight...Nope!
I bought some new tunes for the ole' iPod and thought I should sync them. First of all my iPod has already been slow and acting weird due to this new iOS5 update. So halfway through the sync it cancels...then half my songs were light gray instead of black. (Black-Playable. Gray- Not playable) What gives Apple!? So then I restore my iPod. The past 25 minutes went like this.

7 mins remaining.
7 mins later...5 mins remaining
5 mins later...6 mins remaining
6 mins later...2 mins remaining
*joy*
2 mins later...5 mins remaining
*WHAT THE CRAP!?*
2 mins later...Restore finished.
Now updating.
Present...Still waiting, I guess I will write a post.
And the whole time this is going on I can't even watch Vimeo because I left my playlist playing and am unable to pause/stop/mute it will it is restoring/re-updating... It's Christmas music.

Goodnight.

Little miss spider.

This was the expression I had on my face.
I'm driving home from work and I thought since the weather was so awesome I would roll my windows down. As I'm driving I feel what, I thought was, my hair whipping my face due to the wind. I go to swipe my wind blown hair away from my face and what I swiped was actually a spider frolicking on my face. Oh no this is not ok. #TheMostFrighteningEventInMyLife

I had a dream.

Reasons that being a Christian is awesome #2047- You have the most epic dreams.

Im sitting in my favorite chair on a cool crisp morning with my Bible and cup of piping hot tea. I begin to read the story of Lazarus. (For those who aren't familiar his story, he was as dead as a rock and Jesus came and brought him back to life!) I got as far as when Jesus commanded lazarus to get up and come out of the tomb and then *Bam* There I am standing in a big tomb with a man who just rose from the dead. He had cloth wrapped all around him like mummy and I remember it not smelling to great. After helping Lazarus up from the ground I guided him to the entrance of the tomb to the joyful cheering crowd awaiting his appearance. I was basking in the moment when I noticed that Lazarus was trying to free himself from the cloth around his body and was failing at the attempt. So I quickly searched for and eventually found a knife thinking I could cut him out. Trying my hardest I just couldn't free Lazarus from the cloth that had imprisoned him. The crowd began to yell at me saying I ruined the bible story, and I messed everything up. My response to the hateful remarks was a bucket full of tears and a sense of failure. Then I woke up.

Lets RUUUUUUMBLE!!!

O_O "I feel the earth.move under my feet..."
In these past two days Virginians all over experienced the rumble of earthquakes. Confused? So was I, don't worry. Here are the facts.

  1. Started under Mineral VA
  2. 5.9 Magnitude
  3. Everyone in their cars thought we were having some kind of "car breakdown" apocalypse.
  4. Many thought train tracks had secretly been installed in their backyards.
  5. Lawn furniture was dropping like flies. Tragic.
  6. WAL-MART CLOSED!
  7. Facebook newsfeed became a source with live Earthquake updates.

Now, this wasn't a Japanese or California quake, but for a state that doesn't get too many natural disasters, let alone an Earthquake, it was a BIG deal. And it was scary.

School Swag.

Game Face
Put on my game face and marched, yet again, into the halls of Community College. Today I met a crack head, a man who is not ashamed to burp aloud, three familiar faces, more unfamiliar faces, a young man who enjoys rainstorms, and a girl who gets confused easily. Dang straight I'm going to have superhuman stories to tell about this class.
One down, three more to attend.
Lets see how this week pans out.
..3..2..1 ACTION!
